What we've done

Sample some of our work

We find it easier to explain what we do by providing practical examples of what we've done. If the range of events that are catalogued here don't convince you that we have the experience or skills to help you with your event, let us know - we'll probably be able to show you one of our events that does.

Fringe Festival

Since 2018 we've provided the power infrastructure for Fringe World's Perth Fringe Festival. Operating across seven sites in Northbridge plus the Girls' School in East Perth, we utilise all of the available house power augmented with over a dozen industrial gensets delivering some 3,000kVa (that's enough to run about 300 houses). In 2019, the Festival featured 700 separate events and attracted over 400,000 patrons.

Valentines Concert

The City of Joondalup annually attracts about 10,000 residents to its Valentine's Concert. Staged on the golf course of the Joondalup Resort, we've provided the power and lighting system since 2017. In 2019, new ticketing arrangements imposed extra demands on security, safety and box-office lighting. Our scope of works included six gensets ranging from 2 to 150kVa, 30 floodlights and 120m of festoon lighting.

Twilight Markets

Each year, on four Fridays prior to Christmas, the City of Joondalup hosts the Twilight Markets through the Central Walk. All events feature around 60 stalls, live entertainment and children's activities. Over the four-week season, we establish and maintain the temporary power network and lighting system and electrical power each stall. We also manage the test-and-tag process and provide on-site support.

Careers Expo

We've been setting up the power and lights for Exibit Events' consumers shows for nearly 20 years. Their Careers Expo is a mid-size exhibition held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre . Held over four days in May, it attracts about 14,000 visitors. The show features about 80 exhibitors including all of the major local universities. We deploy our own tracks, LED spotlights, power droppers and distribution boards.

Fremantle BeerFest

The Fremantle BeerFest is part of the BeerFest Australia portfolio of seven annual events. The Fremantle event is staged on the Esplanade Park reserve each November with a sister event at Langley Park. Our involvement started in 2017 and we continue to provide all power and lighting services for Beerfest's WA portfolio. As the name suggests, the family event showcases beer in all its styles but also features food stalls, live entertainment.

South Perth Sounds

In 2019, the City of South Perth's concert on Sir James Mitchell Park, South Perth Sounds featured Hoodoo Gurus. The event attracted 20,000 people to an evening of music, children's activities, food and drinks. We supplied the genset-powered electrical distribution system plus the floodlights and festoon lights. Our scope of works included holding a technician on-site during the bump-in period and for the duration of the event.

Ice Cream Factory

The Ice Cream Factory in Northbridge hosts Bar Pop's Ice Cream Factory Summer Festival. We're old-hands at working this difficult venue (we're also there during Fringe) and we've perfected combining the house-power infrastructure with large gensets we bring on site. The ICF brief is one of our most complex with eight themed activation areas involving festoon-light strings, fairy lights, spotlights, coloured-washes and decorative lanterns.

Mandurah Crab Fest

The annual Mandurah Crab Fest is the State's largest free community event in a regional area. Occupying the entire Eastern Foreshore in the heart of Mandurah city, the event attracts over 100,000 visitors. We've been the electrical contractor since 2018 with responsibility for the power and lighting network across the 3.5 hectare site. Typically, we supply 250 power outlets, 150 fluorescent lights, 20 floodlights and 200 labour-hours.

Pineapple Club

Pineapple Club denotes a series of themed festivals combining food and drinks, with a showcase of live acts and DJ talent. Running over spring and summer, the events are staged in locations including Elizabeth Quay, Gloucestor Park, Wellington Square and Burswood foreshore. We provide the generators and 3-phase power network that is the backbone of the electrical infrastructure and supply all non-stage lighting.

Illuminate Night Party

The City of Gosnells annually treats residents to its Illuminate Night Party on the Gosnells oval. It is a free, family event that includes live music and dance performances, food stalls, carnival rides and children's activities. Previous years' line-ups include Katy Steele with the Cat Empire and Killing Heidi. Our involvement started in 2018 and focuses on providing the gensets and the associated 300kVa power distribution network.

Global Beats & Eats

Global Beats & Eats is a free family festival presented by the City of Wanneroo for residents. Staged at Paloma Park, Marangaroo, the event combines music from around the world with an eclectic range of food from 40 stalls located on the perimeter of the oval and looking onto the entertainment stage. We power and light the site with 7 gensets delivering nearly 800kVa into a reticulated network servicing the stalls and stage.

Bunnings Trade Expo

Bunnings travels its Trade Expo around Australia and around mid-year, sets up at the Claremont Showgrounds. All events in the portfolio are built by the Melbourne-based contractor, Harry the Hirer. We're the electrical contractor of choice for Harry and we work as its partner to provide the electrical distribution network reticulated from the house-power and bring power and lights into the display booths, custom stands and feature areas.

Iron Man Busselton

The Busselton Iron Man is a part of the Iron Man series of international triathlon competitions. The City of Busselton has hosted the event since 2004. We partner with Pedersens Event Hire, the supplier of the marquees for the festival village finish line, swim exit and transition area. Our scope of work primarily focuses on supplying and installing the public area, back of house and decorative lighting in all marquees.

Kwinana Summer Symphony

Each year in early December, the Perth Symphony Orchestra is the star attraction at the City of Kwinana's Summer Symphony. This free event, held on Calista Oval, opens in the late afternoon and runs into the night. In 2019 we were fully responsible for the power infrastructure including primary and backup gensets for the orchestra stage, gensets for the food vendors plus spotlights and festoon lights for the marquee and public areas.

Big Light Out

Big Light Out is a free public event billed by the City of Belmont as "bringing together the best of modern technology for audiences to indulge their senses". The event is staged in Faulkner Park, Cloverdale and, additional to the centre-piece light installations, features roving performers, activities and food trucks. In 2019 our brief was to provide the genset power distribution to the lighting towers to illuminate the Mystical Movements installation.

Cockburn Concert

Cockburn's Community Concert is part of the City of Cockburn's extensive program of free community events. We've been powering and lighting the event on the Dockers' training oval at Cockburn ARC since 2017. The venue has some constraints associated with set-up and shut-down times restrictions and minimising the impact on the grounds. With smart planning and design, our approach fully complies with these requirements.

Hyde Park Fair

The Hyde Park Fair is the Rotary Club of North Perth's major annual fundraising event. Held over the Labour Day Long Weekend, the fair is a free community event featuring 200 stalls, rides and amusements, live entertainment and food vans. We provide the gensets, power distribution and lighting equipment traversing the 1.5 km perimeter of the lakes around which the event is staged. We also provide the on-site technical support during critical times.

Bayswater Art Awards

The City of Bayswater Art Awards exhibition showcases the creativity of local artists. Staged within the RISE community hub, the exhibition regularly displays nearly 200 pieces using a variety of mediums. The exhibition runs over several weeks with the artworks available for sale after the event. We have a long-standing relationship by which we provide the illumination that ensures each artist's work is presented in the best possible light.
